Draft law: Which students will lose the right to deferment from the draft?

A draft law submitted by Fedir Venislavsky has appeared on the website of the Verkhovna Rada, which proposes to cancel the right to defer mobilization for categories of citizens who previously could use this deferral under the so-called "deferral scheme."

According to the draft law, postgraduate students will also lose their right to defer mobilization. In addition, students entering universities after the age of 30, even if they have not previously had a university degree, will no longer be eligible for this deferral.

If this draft law is passed, the right to deferment from mobilization will apply exclusively to full-time or dual education students if they are studying at a higher level of education than their previous one.

An additional condition is that a person must start studying before reaching the age of 30. Also, doctoral students studying full-time or dual programs will retain the deferral.

As we wrote earlier, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine allegedly received a draft law from the president's representative in parliament, Fedir Venislavsky, which concerns the abolition of the right to deferment from mobilization for students receiving second, third and subsequent education.
