Venislavsky: TCC employees cannot detain people, only the police have this right

TCC employees do not have the right to detain people, only the police have such powers. This was stated by MP from the Servant of the People party Fedir Venislavsky in an interview.

According to him, the police currently cannot detain a person to update military registration data.

“But if during the document check it turns out that a citizen of Ukraine is wanted - that is, he should have already been mobilized, received summonses, etc. - representatives of the National Police can detain and deliver this person to the relevant units of the TCC,” the MP said.

He admitted that employees of the Military Commissariats can take part in such detentions, but only together with the police.

“Employees of the TCC have no right to act forcibly without police officers. If they act together with police officers, it is in principle within the law,” Venislavsky said.
