Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi urged city residents to prepare for possible long-term blackouts lasting up to two months. At a meeting of the Lviv City Council on August 23, he emphasized the need to organize water supply and noted that survival in the absence of electricity would be difficult.
Sadovyi emphasized the importance of preparing the city and its residents for possible power outages.
"We need to prepare for a situation when Lviv may be without electricity for a month or even two. When the situation is difficult, the demand will be twice as high for diesel fueling for generators and water transportation. The city must have everything it needs. I emphasize once again: we need to prepare for very difficult periods," the mayor emphasized.
