As a result of the criminal actions of the occupiers, water leaked from the first circuit to the second at Unit 4 of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, Energoatom reports.
As a result of putting Unit 4 of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP into a "hot" state in violation of the license terms and requirements of Energoatom, an incident occurred with a water leak from the first reactor circuit to the second. There was no radiological release into the environment.
This happened due to a violation of the integrity of the third steam generator located in the unit's containment vessel. Therefore, the occupation authorities began to transfer Zaporizhzhia NPP Unit 4 to a "cold shutdown" state.
At the same time, during the next three days, the invaders will transfer Zaporizhzhia NPP Unit 6 to the "hot shutdown" state, which is another violation of the license terms and requirements of Energoatom.
"The incompetent illegitimate 'management' of ZNPP from Rosatom consistently disables the units of the seized plant. And this crime with deliberate damage to the equipment of Unit 4, which led to a violation of the integrity of three out of five existing physical barriers to the spread of radiation, leakage of potentially radioactive water of the first circuit beyond the established limits, damage to expensive equipment of the first circuit, will be investigated," emphasized Petro Kotin, president of SE "NAEK "Energoatom".
