Electricity restrictions will return to Ukraine due to the shutdown of nuclear units for repair

Electricity restrictions may return in the coming days due to the outage of nuclear units for repair. This was stated by acting Chairman of the Board of NNEGC Energoatom Petro Kotin.

According to him, there are currently 8 power units in operation in Ukraine. Over the past two days, there have been no power outages due to an increase in NPP production after two units came out of scheduled maintenance. It is also due to the active operation of solar power plants.

“We have eight power units in operation now. There are no restrictions for two days because we have taken two power units out of repair, but in two days we will have another units for repair, and then, I think, Ukrenergo will impose restrictions,” he said at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Energy Committee.

Kotin noted that the units that are planned to be taken out for repairs will be returned to operation in two months.
