The ambassadors of the member states of the European Union have approved the extension of duty-free trade with Ukraine for another year, Radio Svoboda's European affairs editor Rikard Jozvyak reported on Twitter.

"The EU ambassadors approved the extension of duty-free trade with Ukraine for another year. The European Parliament should vote for it at the plenary session in May," Yozvyak said.

The EU abolished all customs duties on Ukrainian exports for a year in June of last year. The government noted that Ukraine expects to extend the term of duty-free trade with the EU until the end of 2024.

Later, the EU began to put forward an initiative regarding a possible import duty on Ukrainian grain.

Meanwhile, the committee on international trade in the European Parliament supported the extension of duty-free trade with Ukraine for a year.
