The European Union did not impose sanctions against the regime of Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko together with the Russian Federation for one of the reasons. Namely because of Ukraine's request.
This was reported by the Twitter of the Brussels correspondent of "Radio Liberty" Rikard Jozwiak.
"One of the reasons why Belarus was not sanctioned together with Russia in the latest sanctions packages is that Ukraine asked not to include Minsk there," the journalist wrote.
We will remind that the new tenth package of sanctions against Russia in the European Union wants to be approved before the Ukraine-EU summit scheduled for the beginning of February.
At the same time, it was previously reported that together with the Russian Federation, restrictions may be introduced against Belarus, for the role of its regime in the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
