Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba arrived in Cambodia. This is the first ever visit of a Ukrainian minister to this country.

This was announced by the speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleg Nikolenko on Facebook.

Kuleba arrived in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. He will take part in the summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

In addition, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister of Cambodia Samdeha Gun Sen held a personal meeting. Kuleba was the first foreign guest to congratulate the Prime Minister on Cambodia's Independence Day, which is celebrated today.

"Ukraine will be the first Central European country to join the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation in Southeast Asia. Joining will bring concrete political, military, economic and cultural benefits to the Ukrainian state, business and citizens," explained Nikolenko.

It is worth noting that the ASEAN association includes 10 countries: Brunei, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines.
