Britain will transfer missiles for NASAMS air defense systems to Ukraine

Great Britain will give Ukraine missiles for air defense systems capable of shooting down Russian cruise missiles.

This was announced by Defense Minister Ben Wallace, Reuters reports.

Britain said the Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM), which will be delivered in the coming weeks, could be used alongside the NASAMS surface-to-air missile system that the US has promised to provide.

Hundreds of additional anti-aircraft missiles of other types will also be transferred, along with a large number of drones and 18 more howitzer artillery guns.

"Russia's recent indiscriminate strikes on civilian areas in Ukraine require further support for those who seek to defend their country. That's why today I authorized the delivery of AMRAAM anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine," Wallace said.
