Since September 6, the Ukrainian army managed to de-occupy about 8.5 thousand square meters. km of territory and 388 settlements of the Kharkiv region, in which a total of 150,000 people live, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Malyar reported.
"Since September 6, about 8,500 square kilometers, about 388 settlements, about 150,000 people have been liberated in the Kharkiv region," Malyar wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.
She noted that now the total front line is 2,500 km, of which 1,300 km are active combat operations.
"We are conducting a defensive operation, within the framework of which it is possible to implement offensive actions as well. Yes, we have been waiting for this success for a long time, but we still have to fight and fight. Before complete victory, we still have to liberate a lot of our people and our lands. We still need a lot of time , strength and patience", - stressed the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Defense.
Malyar added that the figures regarding the liberated territories in the Kharkiv region are constantly updated, because "the process is dynamic."
"In addition, the liberated territories still require additional security and stabilization measures in order to be able to live there safely. Therefore, official notifications with the numbers of liberated settlements are provided with a deliberate delay and may or may not take into account the implemented stabilization measures, and therefore differ ", she concluded.
