The payment of monetary support to the military is on schedule and without delays, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Malyar reported.
"You remember, in mid-August, at one of the briefings, I reported that the payments of financial support for the previous month would take place with a delay of about 2-3 weeks. This was connected with the procedures for introducing certain changes to the legislation in the Verkhovna Rada, and the Verkhovna Rada The Council had to make certain decisions, these decisions were made. Everything happened according to the schedule. As of today, all funds have been fully financed," said Malyar at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.
She pointed out that the total volume of payments of cash support and additional remuneration in August for July amounted to over UAH 70 billion, and the Ministry of Defense has already started preparing payments in September for August.
The deputy minister informed that in the period from August 25 to 31, the Ministry of Defense received 33,000 body armor, more than 22,000 helmets, more than 16,000 pairs of shoes and more than 11,000 sets of uniforms.
"Today, the reserve of, say, body armor is 12 times greater than the stock as of the end of May. The military command constantly has tens of thousands of body armor and helmets at its disposal. In August, only under direct contracts of the Ministry of Defense, that is, what was purchased with taxpayer funds, on More than 130,000 bulletproof vests have been delivered to the warehouses of the Armed Forces," Malyar said.
She added that 10,000 winter jackets were delivered to the warehouses of the Armed Forces last week.
