The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Raphael Grossi, said that the physical integrity of the occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP was damaged several times, Reuters reports.
"It is clear that the station and the physical integrity of the station have been damaged several times... this cannot continue," the IAEA chief said.
Grossi added that during his stay at the nuclear power plant, the sounds of fighting were "uncomfortably close."
"There were moments when the fire was obvious, heavy machine guns, artillery mortars, two or three times (it was) really very disturbing, I would say, for all of us," Grossi emphasized.
Recall that on September 1, Grossi said that he was able to inspect key areas such as emergency systems and control rooms. His team should now complete the analysis of the technical aspects. He also stated that the IAEA team will maintain its presence at the Zaporizhzhya NPP.
President Volodymyr Zelenski ysaid that despite the agreements with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, the IAEA mission arrived at the Zaporizhzhya NPP without journalists, only propagandists from Russia were there.
