U.S. prepares action plan in case of Russian strikes on NATO territory

The United States is planning to act in case of possible Russian strikes on NATO territory. According to Sky News, this was announced by National Security Adviser of the United States Jake Sullivan.

Sullivan spoke to reporters on his way to Poland aboard Air Force One. Asked if Russia would try to bomb convoys carrying supplies to Ukraine overland via NATO countries, he said: "We are preparing contingency plans in case Russia decides to strike NATO territory in this context or in any other context."

"And the president has been as clear as possible about his absolute determination to respond with the other members of our alliance if Russia attacks NATO," he added.

Sullivan also said the U.S. and its allies could still take new measures to punish Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.

"Certainly there are additional measures to tighten the screws on sanctions, and we're going to keep reviewing them," he said.
