Biden's advisor said that the U.S. is not ready to transfer ATACMS missiles with a range of 300 km to Ukraine

US President Joe Biden is not ready to supply Ukraine with certain capabilities, in particular long-range missiles for HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS). Biden's national security adviser Jake Sullivan said this on July 22 during a speech at a security forum in Aspen.

"There are certain things that the U.S. president says he's not willing to hand over, they include long-range ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile System) missiles, which have a range of 300 kilometers. Because he believes that while the key goal of the U.S. is to do whatever is necessary to support and defend Ukraine, the other key goal is to make sure that we do not get to a situation where we are approaching World War III," Sullivan noted.

He added that in doing so, Biden approved the transfer of high-precision HIMARS missiles to Ukraine, while the U.S. also supplies Kiev with various UAVs, which are effectively used by Ukraine's defenders.
