Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made an address to the Italian Parliament. He called for support for tougher sanctions against Russia.
Volodymyr Zelensky said this in his address.
"The invasion has not stopped for almost a month, which means that we need more sanctions, more pressure, so that Russia is not looking for military reserves or mercenaries somewhere in Libya, but so that Russia is looking for peace. For one and only one person to look for peace," Zelensky said, referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to him, those in Russia who give orders to go to war and those who promote war are using Italy as a vacation spot.
"So don't be a resort for murderers. Block them all real estate, yachts, accounts, block the assets of all those who have influence in Russia. Let them use it for peace so they can come back to you someday. Support most sanctions against Russia, a complete embargo on trade, starting with oil, support a ban on Russian ships entering their ports. There should not be a single exception to the sanctions regime for Russian banks," Zelensky added.
