Zelensky criticized NATO's decision not to close the sky over Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that NATO member states themselves created the narrative that allegedly closing the skies over Ukraine would provoke direct Russian aggression against the alliance.

"Today was a NATO summit, a weak summit, a confused summit. A summit that shows that not everyone considers the fight for freedom to be the number one goal for Europe. All the intelligence of NATO countries, know very well the plans of the enemy, they also confirmed that the Russian Federation wants to continue the offensive...9 days we see a brutal war: destroying our cities, shelling our people, our children. Knowing that new strikes and casualties are inevitable, NATO consciously decided not to close the sky over Ukraine," Zelensky said in a video message Friday night.

The president stressed: "We believe that the NATO countries themselves created the narrative that allegedly closing the skies over Ukraine would provoke direct Russian aggression against NATO."
