Today, November 18, there was a briefing with Interior Minister Denis Monastyrskyy about the detention of police officers who planned an assassination attempt on a Ukrainian government minister. 

Monastyrskyy said that a citizen of Ukraine and an American citizen as the main client in August 2021 were looking for a killer to kill a man in Ukraine. The Ukrainian woman was led to a fake hitman and all their communication was monitored. 

An American and a Ukrainian woman ordered the murder of a debt collector who was taking debts out of the American's partner, with whom he worked in 2018. This debt collector, according to Monastyrsky, borrowed 150 thousand dollars from the American, which he did not pay back, because of which he decided to kill him.  

The US citizen was paid a "deposit" of 20 thousand dollars. After that he had to leave Ukraine and, accordingly, only after that he was to commit murder. 

Law enforcers staged his kidnapping, murder and burial in order to apprehend those who ordered the attempt. Then they sent them a video and a photo, as if the order had been executed. As Minister Monastyrski noted, the purpose was exactly to harm the Minister of Agrarian Policy Roman Leshchenko.

"I can assure you: it will not be possible to eliminate the Minister of Agrarian Policy. On my own behalf, I thank the Minister and the entire structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs that you provide law and order. I am fully willing to cooperate, fully open. Thank you. I have no more words...", summed up Minister Leshchenko.
