EU ambassadors at a meeting on Friday agreed to remove Ukraine from next week's "green list" for travel due to the worsening epidemic situation.
This was reported by Radio Liberty correspondent Rickard Jozwiak.
"EU ambassadors this morning decided to remove Ukraine from the recommended list of countries from which travel is considered safe," the journalist said on Twitter.
The decision is expected to be finalized early next week.
"Once Ukraine is removed from the EU green list, there will be no total closure of EU borders. This is a recommendation, and the final decisions will be made by each individual EU country. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is actively working with partners to preserve the maximum freedom of travel for Ukrainians," Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba wrote on his Twitter account.
