SBGS spokesman: Russia may try to expand hostilities on the border at any time

Russian troops may try to expand the combat zone on the border at any time to disperse the forces and means of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Andriy Demchenko, a representative of the State Border Guard Service, said this during a telethon.

He specified that the border remains a difficult direction and the situation there poses a serious threat.

Demchenko noted that in the Kharkiv region, near the Liptsi and Vovchansk checkpoints, actions are underway to prevent the Russian Armed Forces from advancing deeper. In other parts of the region, according to the State Border Guard Service, everything is stable so far.

“But we have to be prepared for any development of the situation, in particular in the direction of Sumy region. Because the forces and means that the enemy has in front of our territory may indicate that at any moment the enemy may try to expand the areas where hostilities are taking place,” said Andriy Demchenko.

As we reported earlier, Russia is concentrating troops in three areas near the border with Ukraine.
