General Staff of the AFU: Russian offensive in the north of Kharkiv region is stopped, counter-offensive actions are underway

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have stopped the Russian offensive in the north of Kharkiv region and are conducting counter-offensive actions. This was reported by Colonel Ihor Prokhorenko, representative of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during a briefing.

“Occupants are conducting offensive operations in the Kharkiv direction to create a buffer zone. The enemy has been stopped, the situation is under control, counter-offensive actions are underway,” said Prokhorenko.

He also said that the Russians are advancing in the east of Kharkiv region in an attempt to bypass Kupyansk, but are not successful.

Prokhorenko said that near the border in Sumy and Chernihiv regions “the situation is under control,” but Russia is amassing troops on its territory and conducting shelling every day.

“The situation is under control in Sumy and Chernihiv regions. The enemy is amassing troops on the territory of the Russian Federation, conducting daily air and artillery strikes on border settlements, and using UAVs. It is trying to destroy critical infrastructure facilities, attacking with missiles and Shaheds. The defense forces are aware of the enemy's plans and are doing everything to disrupt them,” said the colonel.
