During a telethon, the head of the GUR, Kyrylo Budanov, provided details of Russian preparations for the offensive near Sumy, which he had announced earlier.

Judging by the place of concentration of the Russian military, the expected offensive will develop in the direction of Sumy itself - from the Russian city of Sudzha.

“The Russians have been planning an operation in the Sumy region from the very beginning. As of now, they are keeping small groups of forces in the border area - they have the city of Sudzha, from our side it is the Sumy direction, but the situation has not allowed them to take active actions and start implementing their plan,” the head of the GUR said.

He also spoke about the situation in Kharkiv region. According to him, the Russians have not had much success there. As of yesterday, there was a tendency to stabilize the situation.

“The active phase of the Russian border operation in the Kharkiv region is currently underway. It is definitely not true to say that they are having significant success. At the same time, we must remember that the situation is quite tense and changing very quickly. As of yesterday evening, I think there is a rapid the tendency to stabilize the situation. That is, the enemy has already been blocked along the lines it was able to reach. And the operation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine to further stabilize and begin to push the enemy out of our country is underway,” the head of the DIU said.

It should be noted that earlier Budanov said that the Armed Forces had no reserves left.
