The situation in Vovchansk: the city is practically destroyed, and the Russian army is beginning to surround it from one side

The Russian army is beginning to surround Vovchansk from one side, and the city is almost destroyed. This was stated by Oleksandr Skoryk, a member of the Kharkiv Regional Council, during a telethon.

“According to the latest information from Volchansk, the enemy has an advance. They are beginning to surround the city from one side. There are very difficult positional battles. The Ukrainian defense forces are defending the city under heavy fire, constant hits of KABs and assault operations,” said Skoryk.

According to him, there is not a single building left in the city.

“Yesterday, in just one day, 30 missiles were fired at this area - guided aerial bombs. There are practically no surviving buildings in the city,” the MP said.

For his part, the head of Kharkiv police Volodymyr Tymoshko said that Vovchansk “is turning into Bakhmut or Maryinka”.

He said that in the last three days, the city has suffered in a way that it has not suffered since 2022. The number of air strikes is off the charts.

“It's a 250- or even 500-kilogram bomb that can demolish a multi-story building. In some sense, Vovchansk is turning into Bakhmut or Maryinka,” said Tymoshko.
