Russians are preparing an attack on Kharkiv region. Pavlo Fedosenko, the commander of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after Kosh Ataman Ivan Sirko, said this in an interview with The Economist.
According to him, Russia will attack Kharkiv region in mid-May. Currently, a group of 50,000 soldiers is concentrated near the border.
“One of the scenarios is to isolate the city by cutting the main road to Kyiv. Another option would be to move about 10 km closer, putting the eastern outskirts of the city in the zone of artillery fire and creating a buffer zone to protect Belgorod, a Russian city that is subject to Ukrainian drone strikes,” the military said.
He also noted that the probability that Russians will capture the entire territory of Donetsk region is 70%.
“Everyone knows that if we don't fight for Kostyantynivka and Druzhkivka, Russian troops will be in Dnipro, Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih in a few weeks,” said Fedosenko.
He also noted that the goal of the battle for Chasiv Yar is not to hold every centimeter of land, but to prevent Russia from advancing and seizing the main cities. At the same time, slowing down the Russians in Donbas is crucial.
