Swiss President Viola Amherd said that she had invited Pope Francis to a peace summit on Ukraine to be held on June 15-16. This was reported by the Blick news agency.

Amherd met with Francis on Saturday, May 4.

“I had an interesting conversation with the Pope in a warm atmosphere. We talked, in particular, about the war in Ukraine and other problematic areas of the world,” she said.

When asked whether the pontiff had given his consent, she replied: “We invited the Holy See. The Vatican is very positive about the peace conference.”
