Director of Ukrhydroenergo: There were two direct hits at Dnipro HPP - at HPP-1 and HPP-2, the latter was seriously damaged

In Zaporizhzhia, there were two direct hits at Dnipro HPP - at HPP-1 and HPP-2. It is not yet known whether HPP-2 will be restored, as it is seriously damaged. This was stated by Ukrhydroenergo CEO Ihor Syrota during a telethon.

"As of today, we are losing the plant. HPP-2 is under threat, we do not know in what volume and with what capacity it will be able to operate because of the hit, as two missiles came in a direct hit on HPP-2," he said.

According to him, one missile hit the crane beams and hit the support.

"That means that HPP-2 is in a critical condition, and HPP-1 is also out of operation. That's why we are taking all measures to, say, raise the gates and release water, so unfortunately, we will not be able to process this water through the station," said Syrota.

In addition, one person died as a result of the attack on the Dnipro hydroelectric power plant, the prosecutor's office said.
