In an interview with France Inter, French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné said that the French will not die for Ukraine, but that official Paris will do everything possible to prevent Russia from winning.
"Everything we are doing is aimed at avoiding war and obviously not adding to the French anxiety, so our strategy in this time of uncertainty is aimed at preventing Russia from winning," Séjourné said.
The Foreign Minister also emphasized: "The French will not die for Ukraine or see hostilities, because our borders are clearly defined - not to let Russia win. This is what the President of the Republic said."
According to him, the collapse of Ukraine will cost the world much more.
At the same time, the Foreign Minister called Macron's recent statements as such that allow France to be "on the right side of history."
"We have information that Russia will not stop there," Séjourné emphasized, commenting on the situation with Moldova and Transnistria, which have asked Moscow for protection.
