Polish farmers are now planning an action on the Lithuanian border

Polish farmers decided to start a blockade at the checkpoint on the border with Lithuania as part of their protests. This is reported by the LRT publication.

One of the organizers of the protest, Karolis Pečinskins, told reporters that the action is planned at the border crossing between the Lithuanian city of Kalvarija and the Polish city of Budzisko on March 1, starting at 10 am.

The farmers intend to check and inspect vehicles, including trucks, crossing the border in order to control the transportation of agricultural products. The protesters noted that they would allow vehicles carrying gasoline, industrial cargo, as well as cars and passenger vehicles to pass unimpeded.

"We want to draw attention to what is happening because we believe that our interests are being ignored... The issue of a blockade on the Lithuanian border arose when we started thinking about how to increase pressure on the Polish authorities," he said.
