Defense forces will withdraw from the Zenit position on the outskirts of Avdiivka. This was stated by Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskiy, commander of the Tavria operational and strategic group of troops, on Telegram.
"After many months of confrontation, the command of the operational-strategic group decided to withdraw from the Zenit position to the southeastern outskirts of Avdiivka. We held this position as long as it allowed us to effectively deter and destroy the enemy," he said.
According to him, the decision to withdraw was made to save personnel and improve the operational situation.
"Tactically, holding these positions does not give the enemy a strategic advantage and does not change the situation within the Avdiivka defense operation. We are currently regrouping troops, replenishing supplies and equipping units in new positions. The units are being reinforced as planned," noted Tarnavskiy.
