The Russian large landing ship Caesar Kunikov was destroyed near Alupka off the coast of Crimea. The ship was attacked by Magura V5 maritime attack drones. This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"An enemy ship was attacked by Magura V5 maritime attack drones off the coast of the temporarily occupied Crimea near the city of Alupka," the statement said.
Intelligence claims that the ship received critical holes on the port side and began to sink.
"It is symbolic that the Russian officer, after whom the ship was named, was killed exactly 101 years ago," the agency said.
The GUR said that the Caesar Kunikov Project 775 ship was one of the newest Russian vessels. It could accommodate 87 crew members on board. It was used by Moscow during the wars in Georgia, Syria, and Ukraine.
Intelligence reports that the occupiers' search and rescue operation was unsuccessful.
It should be noted that Russian military publics confirm the attack on the Caesar Kunikov landing ship. They write that it happened in the Katsiveli area near the southern coast of Crimea. Officially, Russia has not yet commented.
