Massive missile attack on Kyiv: air defense repelled about two dozen missiles (UPDATED)

Today, on February 7, in the morning, Russia massively attacked Ukraine with missiles, before firing Shaheds. Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv came under attack, and explosions were also heard in the western regions. Fires, destruction and casualties were reported.


In Kyiv, during the air alert, air defense was working, about 20 X-101/X-555/X-55 missiles were shot down over the capital and in the area, which came to Kyiv in several waves from different directions.


There are consequences due to falling debris in Dniprovskyi, Desnianskyi, and Holosiivskyi districts.


In particular, in Holosiivskyi district, an 18-story building caught fire on several floors. There are victims. Cars and service stations also caught fire in the area.


In addition, in Dniprovskyi district, debris damaged high-voltage lines. This caused an emergency power outage in the area. People were left without electricity.


In total, 9 people have been injured in the capital as a result of the enemy attack. 6 people have already been hospitalized from the high-rise building in Holosiivskyi district. Among them is a pregnant woman.


Emergency services are working at the scene. Two more victims were hospitalized in Dniprovskyi district. One of them was treated on the spot. The heating main on the left bank of the capital was also damaged. Experts are investigating the extent of the damage.


At 9:15 a.m., DTEK said it would power the buildings using backup power sources within three to four hours, and by the end of the day it plans to restore normal operation of the power grid.

14 private and 2 apartment buildings, outbuildings, and cars were damaged. Windows and doors were partially broken in one educational institution.


Two people were injured. There were no hits to residential or critical infrastructure.
