Ukraine and Great Britain hold second round of consultations on security guarantees

Representatives of Ukraine have held the second round of consultations with Britain on the conclusion of a bilateral agreement on security guarantees. This was reported by the press service of the Office of the President.

The Ukrainian delegation was headed by Deputy Head of the OP Ihor Zhovkva and also included Deputy Head of the OP Roman Mashovets, Deputy Foreign Minister Mykola Tochytskyi, and representatives of the Ministry of Defense.

"The second round of consultations showed the progress we have made since the start of bilateral security talks. Great Britain plays an important role in strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities, its economic and financial stability, as well as in gradually bringing our country closer to NATO membership, which will be a reliable guarantee," Zhovkva said.

The ministry said that during the talks, the parties analyzed the main components of security guarantees and agreed on a further work plan.

Zhovkva also discussed with the head of the British delegation, Nicholas Katsaras, the strengthening of bilateral relations between the countries, the implementation of the peace formula, and the schedule of further contacts at the level of state leaders.
