The Ukrainian army counterattacked in the Avdiivka direction and advanced near the railway southeast of Stepove. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also advanced in the west of Zaporizhzhia region near Novoprokopivka. This is stated in the report of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

ISW writes that Russian troops conducted offensive operations near Bakhmut, but did not make any confirmed advances on November 19. Geolocation footage shows that Ukrainian forces attacked and advanced south of Shumy (23 km south of Bakhmut), and counterattacked near Avdiivka and advanced near the railway southeast of Stepove (3 km northwest of Avdiivka).

Russian "military commanders" claimed that Ukrainian troops had recaptured positions near the railway near Stepove and counterattacked near the Avdiivka Coke Plant.

Russian troops conducted offensive operations near Avdiivka, but did not achieve any confirmed success. The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Russian forces unsuccessfully attacked south of Novokalynove, east of Novobakhmutivka, and near Severne and Avdiivka.

The ISW report also said that Ukrainian forces continued offensive operations in the western part of Zaporizhzhia region and reportedly made progress. Russian "military commanders" claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces advanced near Novoprokopivka and Rivne (8 km west of Robotyne).
