The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has adopted foreign-made Leopard tanks of three modifications. These are 2A6, 2A5 and 1A5 Leopards. The relevant orders were signed by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports.

Ukraine received the Leopard 2A6, Leopard 2A5 and Leopard 1A5 tanks from Western partners as part of military and defense assistance.

The Ministry of Defense noted that the Leopards have proven to be effective in combat.

"By accepting these tanks into service, we declare our long-term intention to have modern and high-tech weapons," the defense ministry said in a statement.

The Ministry of Defense also noted that Leopard tanks of the 2A6, 2A5 and 1A5 modifications are designed to break through fortified enemy positions, destroy firing points, equipment and manpower of the enemy, and quickly organize defensive lines.
