Austria expresses hope that diplomatic talks between Ukraine and Russia will resume. However, Kyiv responds to this statement with a reproach. This was reported by Bild.


The statement was made by Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg. In his opinion, peace is always achieved at the negotiating table, not on the battlefield.


"In my opinion, it is better to have the logic of negotiations return to the battlefield sooner rather than later," he said.


"Even if the pressure from Brussels increases, we will not negotiate," the interlocutor said sharply in a comment to a German publication.


According to a government source, Ukraine needs successes by the end of the year to show that it is capable of winning the war.
