For technical and political reasons, Armenia probably cannot become a member of the North Atlantic Alliance. This was reported by Sargis Khandanyan, chairman of the parliamentary commission on foreign relations and a member of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's party, on News.am.
"In our society, discussions related to NATO are romanticized. There are countries that do not have conflicts, they are the most peaceful countries in the world, but today they also have difficulties with joining NATO. I simply do not see the possibility of this for technical and political reasons. ", Khandanyan said.
He also clarified that the Armenian government has never expressed a desire to join the North Atlantic Alliance, but the country continues to cooperate with NATO in various fields, especially in education and other areas of joint activity.
