The US may take action against Turkey for helping Russia circumvent sanctions

According to The Wall Street Journal, the United States may take action against Turkey because of its involvement in helping Russia circumvent sanctions. The US authorities are trying to persuade Turkey to comply with restrictions on Russia, but at the same time avoid imposing sanctions on it.

According to sources, the United States is actively engaged in a dialogue with the Turkish government and the private sector on these issues.

"We sincerely hope to avoid a scenario in which Turkish companies are subject to sanctions, and we have been working with both the government and the private sector to inform them of the very real risks," the source said.

As a reminder, despite its support for Ukraine, Turkey has not joined the sanctions against Russia.
