35 people were injured, six of them seriously, as a result of an accident involving a Polish bus in Germany on the A2 autobahn near Magdeburg.

 Lukasz Jasina, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, told the PAP agency about this on Friday.

 The bus traveling from Warsaw to Belgium crashed around 3:10 am. He was driving on the autobahn between Magdeburg and Bornstedt when, for reasons still unknown, he left the roadway. The vehicle fell into a ditch and overturned on its roof, Magdeburg police said.

 A police representative said that all emergency services of the region were present at the scene of the accident.

 Some passengers were trapped. The injured were taken to the nearest hospitals.

 Public buses were launched to transport the victims from the accident site.

 A total of 49 passengers and two drivers were in the bus.

 The local police are investigating the cause of the accident.
