Another scandal: Orbán was caught wearing a scarf with a map of "Greater Hungary"

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán came to the football match wearing a scarf with the image of the so-called "Greater Hungary", which "included" parts of Ukraine and Romania.

So, Orbán published on his Facebook page a video of a meeting with football player Balazs Džuják, who played a farewell match for the Hungarian national team. It was really a friendly match against Greece. In the footage, Orbán is wearing a scarf with a map of "Greater Hungary" on it.

In addition, German liberal politician, Member of the European Parliament Daniel Freund drew attention to the Hungarian Prime Minister's scarf.

"The Prime Minister of Hungary is wearing a scarf with a card of "Greater Hungary". How reassuring for Hungary's neighbors," he wrote on Twitter.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania has already reacted to Orbán's scarf, expressing "strong disapproval" to the Hungarian ambassador in Bucharest.

The Romanian Foreign Ministry said that such a gesture was in clear contrast to the atmosphere of openness and renewed bilateral dialogue regarding the recent consultations that the Romanian Foreign Minister held in Budapest with both his Hungarian counterpart and the Prime Minister of Hungary.

"Any revisionist manifestation, in whatever form it takes, is unacceptable contrary to the current realities and the obligations jointly accepted by Romania and Hungary to build bilateral relations within the framework of the defining parameters of the main document regulating bilateral relations, namely the Treaty on Mutual Understanding and dialogue and the Republic of Hungary, signed in Timişoara on September 16, 1996, and, accordingly, on the Strategic Partnership, which is celebrating two decades this year," the message reads.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán compared the Soviet troops that attacked Hungary during the 1956 revolution and the institutions of the European Union today.
