Gas prices in Europe rose to their highest level since March 2022. The September futures price at the TTF hub in the Netherlands exceeded $2,800 for 1,000 cubic meters.

 This is evidenced by data from the London Stock Exchange ICE.

 On August 22, the price of gas increased by 13% and reached $2,865 per 1,000 cubic meters.

 Earlier, Russia's Gazprom announced that gas transportation through the Nord Stream gas pipeline will be suspended from August 31 to September 2 for the repair of the only working turbine. After that, the price of gas on the stock exchanges in Europe exceeded $2,700 on August 19.

 It will be recalled that in July the National Bank of Ukraine increased the forecast of natural gas prices at the TTF hub in the Netherlands. It is expected that the average annual price in 2022 will be $1,314.5 per 1,000 cubic meters (in January, the NBU forecast $856).

 According to the forecast, gas prices will be $1,283.5 in 2023, and $1,007.3 in 2024.
