PACE on Tuesday is going to vote on expulsion of Russia from the Council of Europe

PACE deputies plan to vote Tuesday night on Russia's membership in the Council of Europe, PACE tweeted.

"On Tuesday around 8 p.m. local time, the assembly is scheduled to vote on a question raised by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on 'the possible further use of Article 8 of the Council of Europe charter,' which allows a country to be expelled from the organization," the report said.

Article 8 provides that in certain situations, the Committee of Ministers may invite a country to voluntarily withdraw from the Council of Europe. If the country does not agree to do so, the Committee of Ministers may order its membership in the organization to be terminated.
