A record number of men are applying to graduate school this year: the state is responding by tightening exams

This year, a record number of men are entering master's and postgraduate programs, and this is a cause for concern. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Education Mykhailo Vinnytskyi during a telethon.

200 thousand people have applied for the unified entrance exam, although usually 110-120 thousand.

“The unified entrance exam, which this year saw a record number of people... This year it has already exceeded 200,000 with a huge number of older men who obviously have their own reasons for registering and wanting to enter educational programs,” Vinnytskyi said.

He emphasized that the Ministry of Education will respond to this situation, stressing that this year's entrance exams will be more rigorous.

“This exam will be quite tough this year. We want people who want to study to really have the right to study... But education should not be a means of avoiding a constitutional duty, so there will be a fairly strict selection system,” the official added.

It should be noted that in order to defer mobilization, it is important to obtain a new level of education consistently.
