The deputy head of the Rivne Regional Council was caught taking a half-million hryvnia bribe for help with land and property issues. This was reported by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau on its website, although the official was not named. However, according to Ukrainska Pravda, it is Serhiy Svystaliuk.
Serhiy Svystalyuk was notified of the suspicion announced by the NABU, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and the Security Service of Ukraine.
The exposed official promised to help a private entrepreneur in obtaining property and land related to a non-operational children's sanatorium that once belonged to municipal property. He assisted in writing off the property and obtaining a decision on the sale of the plot.
For these services in 2022-2023, the official received a bribe of almost UAH 500 thousand.
