President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre have signed an agreement on security cooperation and long-term support.
According to the press service of the President's Office, Norway will provide Ukraine with at least €1.2 billion in military aid this year. In total, Norway will allocate nearly €6.4 billion in long-term support for the period from 2023 to 2027. Norway's support will continue for the duration of the agreement.
Norway will also assist Ukraine in developing its capabilities in the field of modern combat aircraft, including the transfer of F-16 fighters.
In addition, Oslo will make a significant contribution to the development of maritime capabilities in the Black and Azov Seas, continuing to provide NASAMS systems and other equipment, as well as training.
Additionally, the two countries will work to deepen defense and industrial cooperation. Norway will support the peace formula, sanctions, reparations, holding Russia accountable, as well as assistance in economic recovery, humanitarian demining, and protection of critical infrastructure.
Norwegian hospitals will continue to provide assistance to Ukrainians.
In addition, Norway will support Ukraine's future membership in NATO.
