Draft law from the government: changes in international wanted and extradition

The government has submitted to the Verkhovna Rada Draft Law No. 11223, which provides for amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code regarding international cooperation.

According to a publication on the Verkhovna Rada's website, the draft law proposes to simplify the procedure for putting a person on the international wanted list.

The Government explained that the lack of a definition of the term "international wanted" in the legislation complicates international cooperation on extradition.

Therefore, the proposed amendments to Articles 281, 282 and 335 are aimed at addressing this issue.

In particular, the amendments are intended to define the moment when the international wanted list is launched from the standpoint of regulatory and procedural law.
