Poland is building a permanent helicopter base on the border with Ukraine

A new airbase will be established in Poland, in the city of Świdnik, Lublin Voivodeship, which is located near the border with Ukraine. Helicopters will be stationed there on a permanent basis. This was reported by the Polish Ministry of Defense.


Thus, on March 25, at the Lublin airport, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz signed a letter of intent on cooperation between the Ministry of National Defense and the Lublin Voivodeship.


"We have just signed a letter of intent between the Ministry of National Defense and the city of Lublin, Lublin Voivodeship and Lublin Airport in connection with the investment planned by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland here - the location of a permanent helicopter air base of the Ground Forces here in Świdnik, at Lublin Airport, which will serve the needs of the Polish Armed Forces," he said.


According to the defense minister, this permanent base will be located on an area of 100 hectares, which will be built as part of an agreement between the Ministry of National Defense and local government partners.
