Over the past week, Russia has used about 190 missiles of various types and almost 140 Shahed-type kamikaze drones against Ukraine, and has also used about 700 guided aerial bombs. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky in a video address.
"During this week, from Monday to the present, Russian terrorists have used almost 190 missiles of various types and almost 140 Shahed drones. Almost 700 more guided aerial bombs. There has never been a week in the more than 2 years of this war when Russia refrained from terror. And we are doing everything possible to make sure that the occupation contingent feels our quite just response to this terror in the same way - every week," he said.
The President also thanked the Ukrainian defenders of the sky: the military of mobile fire groups, aviation, air defense of the Ground Forces, and electronic warfare specialists.
Zelensky said that Ukraine's air shield needs "significant strengthening." According to him, the country is working on this with all partners, "whose decisions can change the nature of this war and protect Ukrainian cities and villages from terror."
The Ukrainian leader noted that at least some of the missiles and most of the "Shaheds" are already being shot down by the Ukrainian military.
