Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Verkhovna Rada has been operating in a continuous plenary session, which allows MPs to meet at any time. This week's break in meetings is due to the need for MPs to work in the areas where the military is deployed. This was stated by the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, on his Telegram channel.
"I would like to remind you that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Verkhovna Rada has been working in a continuous plenary session. This allows us, firstly, to meet at any time and make decisions, and secondly, to respond promptly to changes in the security situation, important deadlines or peculiarities of decision-making by our partners. Therefore, it is impossible to cancel something that is ongoing both in fact and in accordance with the regulations," the MP explained.
According to Arakhamia, in the near future, MPs will work with the military similarly to their work in the constituencies. Both at the front line and in training centers and permanent deployment points.
"Now our MPs have an urgent and important task in this area, which directly affects the assistance of our partners. When it is completed, they will return to work in the session hall. Such things cannot and should not be announced for security reasons," he noted.
