The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, doubted that a conflict with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky could be the reason for Zaluzhnyi's resignation. This was reported by the СBС News.
Answering a question about a possible conflict between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, Budanov said that there can hardly be personal differences between men if one of them is a "direct subordinate of the other."
He also emphasized that the decision to replace Zaluzhnyi was the right step, but stressed the need to understand why a situation like this one arose.
"If everything is good, everything is great and everything is done correctly, then why are we in the situation we are in?" - added the GUR head.
