Russia reacted to Macron's statement about the possibility of sending NATO troops to Ukraine. The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that if this happens, we will have to talk "about the inevitability of a direct confrontation between Russia and NATO", Russian media reports.
"The Kremlin drew attention to Macron's words that Europe was discussing the topic of sending troops to Ukraine. If this happens, we will have to talk about the inevitability of a direct confrontation between Russia and NATO, not the probability," the presidential spokesman said.
He also said that a number of European countries "maintain a sober assessment of the potential danger of sending troops to Ukraine and getting involved in a hot conflict."
As we reported earlier, Macron allowed Western troops to be sent to Ukraine.
