Poland extends stay of Ukrainian refugees until the end of June

The stay of Ukrainian refugees in Poland was extended until June 30 this year. The relevant law was signed by President Andrzej Duda. This is reported by PAP.

"President Andrzej Duda signed a law on assistance to citizens of Ukraine, which, in particular, extends the period of legal stay of Ukrainian military refugees until June 30, 2024," the statement said.

The law was adopted in accordance with the decision of the EU Council to extend the temporary protection of Ukrainian refugees until March 4, 2025. Among other things, the law provides for the extension of the legal stay of Ukrainian military refugees until June 30 this year.

According to the current provisions of the law, the stay of Ukrainian citizens is legal if they arrived in Poland between February 24, 2022 and March 4, 2024.

In addition, the document introduces amendments extending to 28 months the period during which, in particular, a citizen of Ukraine who has obtained a medical or dental qualification outside the territory of the EU Member States may be granted a permit to practice as a doctor or dentist and a conditional right to practice as a doctor or dentist.
